The Sweet Georgia has been made in the USA since 1934: in a beautiful red tin can, using the same traditional recipe and in the same high quality. It's almost a miracle that something this beautiful is still being made today. The pomade with the sonorous name of a famous jazz title of the 1920s had disappeared from the market for years before its comeback in 2006. Application & styling tips

The "Sweet Georgia" makes it pleasantly easy to you. It feels good and can be wonderfully applied to the hair.

For a 1930s hairstyle:

In the 1930s it was fashionable to keep the hair as tight and flexible as possible. For this era-style hair style you will need: Sweet Georgia Brown Hair Dressing Pomade, a comb, a natural-bristle hairbrush, a towel (or a blow-dryer).

Take a small amount of pomade and rub it between your fingers or hands. Then run your hands over the dry hair and distribute the first portion of pomade in the hair. Now massage the pomade into your hair and scalp like you would do with a shampoo in the shower. Then comb your hair into shape. Combing in between helps to distribute the pomade well in the hair and to get a feeling for the right dosage. If needed, massage and comb more pomade to your hair.

Now the classic method as written on the old Sweet Georgia Brown cans: Once your hair is set the way you want it, take a towel and dampen it with hot water (be careful not to burn yourself!). The towel should be hot but comfortable on the skin, like the towels you used to be given on planes. Wring out any excess water.

Next place the hot, damp towel over your hairstyle and press it lightly against your hair. It definitely shouldn't burn your skin or scalp!

When the towel has cooled down on your head (about 1 minute later) remove it and see how soft and shiny your hair has become. Comb it again into the desired shape. If your hair is still too loose, simply repeat the process (pomade, comb, hot towel).

Modern method: Instead of a hot towel, blow dry your hair. It's faster, works similarly, but lacks the hot moisture pressed against the hair.

Last up is the hairbrush. It helps to distribute the pomade perfectly in the hair and also enhances the elegance of the hairstyle. It is important that it is a hairbrush with natural bristles (preferably boar bristles). You can use it to glide gently over the hair, bring it back into the desired shape and give your hairstyle even more original style.

How to wash it out?

Of course, washing out a classic pomade is not a sure-fire success. It shouldn't either, because a classic pomade is made to stay in the hair and to hold the hairstyle even in heat, wind and weather. However, washing it out isn't magic either. It is important to massage the shampoo into dry hair and only then gradually add water. Finally, rinse thoroughly and repeat the procedure if necessary. It is also helpful to apply something oily, such as the oil-based Dapper Dan Hair Tonic GOLD, to the hair the day before or shortly before. The oil helps loosen the consistency of the pomade and makes it easier to wash out.

Here is a little additional info:

There is a chemical reaction between the perfume and the inside of the tin, and therefore there may be some dark discolouration of the material in spots.

This is therefore a purely visual change of the tin, which has no influence on the quality of the product.

No parts of the tin come loose and the pomade can be used as usual.
