The medium weight pomade from Schorem - the cult barbers of Rotterdam
A petrolatum based, medium weight, easy to handle pomade with a nice scent of green apples and a discreet shine. The pomade comes in a very cool, thin tin with the sketch of a house pig as well as with nice nostalgic ornaments. The shown pig is a hint on the pomade origins from the 17th and 18th century, where fat from pigs has been used for pomades. "Reuzel" means "lard" in dutch. Made in the USA. PLEASE NOTE: Deliveries of Reuzel products are only possible to Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The hairdressers of Schorem from the Netherlands are cult. No more, no less - in their barber salon in Rotterdam they will only provide 10 haircuts. For these 10 haircuts customers are already 2 hours before opening waiting in the line. Without appointments. And when by 10 o'clock the Barbershop opens its doors, 50 customers have to be sent away as the Schorem barbers are fully booked out for the day.
The Green Reuzel pomade is a waxy medium hold oil based pomade. It is easy to handle and to comb. It is petrolatum based, containing mostly traditional ingredients like beeswax, mineral oil, as well as tea tree oil and emu oil. Its mild scent of green apples is again a reminder of the first pomades, which used apples as a scent.

Solide Pomade von Reuzel.
Die Reuzel-Pomade ist eine solide Einsteiger-Pomade. In ihrer Wirkung schließe ich mich den Aussagen von Flo aus dem Video in der Beschreibung voll an: Sie bietet einen mittelfesten Halt bei mittlerem Glanz.
Beim Duft bin ich ebenfalls kritisch. Unter den Eigenschaften wird sie als fruchtig beschrieben – für meine Nase dominieren Zitrone und ein Hauch Apfel. Leider wirkt das Ganze für mich recht unnatürlich, fast schon chemisch. Teilweise erinnert mich der Geruch eher an zitrische Reinigungsmittel oder Badreiniger.
Aufgrund des für mich störenden Geruchs und des großen Angebots anderer Pomaden mit vergleichbaren Eigenschaften werde ich dieses Produkt nicht noch einmal anschaffen.
Für Reuzel-Fans, die auf der Suche nach einer klassischen, ölbasierenden Pomade sind, kann sie aber durchaus einen Versuch wert sein.
