A US Barbershop Classic – It Makes Your Scalp and Face Feel Frozen The legendary Osage Rub delivers a merciless burst of instant refreshment for the scalp, face and neck. Menthol and eucalyptus create an exceptionally powerful, long-lasting cooling sensation – especially welcome on hot summer days. Suitable as a hair tonic, facial splash or aftershave. Made in the USA. Clubman Pinaud Osage Rub is one of the great classics of American barbershop culture. For generations, the vivid green tonic has been splashed onto the scalp after a haircut or applied generously to the face and neck following a wet shave. Osage Rub is no timid grooming water. Its combination of menthol, eucalyptus oil and alcohol produces a cold shock that American barbering enthusiasts often describe with just one word: FREEEEZING!!! The Effect Immediately after application, surprisingly little seems to happen. Then a gentle tingle begins, rapidly developing into an intense wave of icy freshness. On the scalp, it can feel almost as though you have plunged your head into a bucket of ice water. The cooling sensation remains noticeable for a considerable time and becomes even more intense in front of a fan, while driving or when caught by a fresh summer breeze. Applied after a haircut, shower or during humid weather, Osage Rub feels wonderfully invigorating. The precise intensity and duration depend on the amount used and individual skin sensitivity. Osage Rub can also be used after a wet shave. However, freshly shaved skin makes the menthol blast feel particularly powerful. Anyone with sensitive skin should begin with a very small amount. As a Hair Tonic Applied to the scalp, Osage Rub delivers instant refreshment and leaves behind a clean, invigorated sensation. It provides no styling hold or rich conditioning, but works beautifully as a traditional finishing splash after a haircut or as a cooling pick-me-up during the day. It is especially appealing during summer for anyone who finds ordinary hair tonics insufficiently cold. A few splashes on the scalp and neck can make the next heatwave feel considerably less threatening – at least for a while. The Fragrance Osage Rub opens with a mighty dose of menthol and eucalyptus. Its aroma recalls menthol snuff, a traditional hot-towel barbershop treatment and a freshly opened packet of eucalyptus sweets – only considerably colder. Beneath the powerful menthol cloud lies a mild, slightly sweet and powdery barbershop fragrance with subtle spicy nuances. The aroma fades relatively quickly, while the icy tingle remains noticeable on the skin for much longer. A Name from American Barbering Tradition The product name refers to the Osage Nation, an Indigenous nation of the Great Plains whose people call themselves Wažáže – People of the Middle Waters. Translating the name literally as “Osage ointment” would be misleading. Osage Rub is a historic American brand name now closely associated with traditional US barbershop culture. How to Use As a hair tonic: Apply several splashes directly to the scalp and massage thoroughly. Wait a moment – the full cooling sensation usually takes a few seconds to develop. As a facial splash or aftershave: Pour a small amount into the palms, rub the hands together briefly and apply carefully to the cheeks, neck and nape. Keep well away from the eyes, lips and mucous membranes. As a summer refresher: Apply sparingly to the scalp or back of the neck during hot weather. Even a gentle breeze will increase the cooling effect considerably. Which Hair Tonic Is Right for You? Osage Rub: For an uncompromising menthol and eucalyptus blast without styling hold. Don Draper Blue Hair Tonic: A milder option for traditional everyday hair care, pleasant freshness and classic barbershop style. Sweet Georgia Brown Hair Tonic: A warmer, sweet and powdery alternative for improved manageability, softness and natural shine. Important Information Osage Rub contains a powerful concentration of menthol. For external use only and apply sparingly at first. Avoid contact with the eyes, mucous membranes and broken or irritated skin. Wash hands after use and do not allow the liquid to collect beneath rings or jewellery. Keep out of reach of children. Due to its alcohol content, keep away from heat and open flames. Packaged in a transparent plastic bottle with a white screw cap. Without added preservatives. Made in the USA.
