The "Yardley English Lavender Brilliantine" is a traditional pomade from one of the oldest and most respected manufacturers of bath and body care products in London. The Brilliantine (or "Brillantine") was invented in 1873 by the French perfumer Eduard Pinaud. He called it Brilliantine (from the French "brillant" = shining) and presented it to the world at the Paris World Exhibition in 1900. It consisted of perfumed Vaseline and was used for hair, beards and moustaches to give them suppleness and a well-groomed and shiny appearance. Like the Sweet Georgia Brown, the Yardley Brilliantine immediately captivates you: the elegant glass jar, the tiny nostalgic label and the warm, sweet and refreshing lavender scent that you want to sniff all day long.
It's almost a miracle that this Brilliantine still exists. Although it was a synonym for English body care in Germany for decades, it is still hardly available today. Even on the manufacturer Yardley's website you have to search for a long time. The Brilliantine is really extraordinary and once you've fallen for it, you'll stay loyal to it for the rest of your hair life. This little green fairy is a must-have in any pomade collection.
The effect
The Yardley Brilliantine is actually a lavender field that has become pomade. Once you have unscrewed the golden aluminum lid with the label of a lavender bouquet seller, it is too late: the lush green pomade attracts your nose like a magnet and the unforgettable, calming, warm scent of the lavender fields of England has transported you to dreamland. The packaging
The Yardley English Lavender Brilliantine looks like it came from a Victorian antique shop. It's just unbelievable that something so beautiful is still being produced in today's plastic world full of "Ultra", "Strong" and "Shock". The Brilliantine is packaged in a clear glass jar (!) with a small, embedded label and a gold-colored screw-on lid made of aluminum. In the 1950s, glass jars were still common for pomades and hair creams, such as Brylcreem, but Yardley - in glass since 1962 - has made it into the 21st century. From the inside, the green Brilliantine presses against the glass walls and its pleasant size makes it look both innocent and seductive.
Consistency and scent
The Brilliantine is soft, similar to Royal Crown Hair Dressing, and a lush green. When you unscrew the jar, the surface looks like green piano lacquer. And if you dip your finger in, the pomade looks like shiny, delicately ridged glass. Although it is soft, it does not feel greasy. Its scent is clear, lemony, refreshing and timeless, with notes of lavender, bergamot, rosemary, eucalyptus, geranium, sage, cedarwood, moss and musk. You really find yourself unscrewing this little glass jar again and again to enjoy the fascinating aroma.

Nicht für mich geeignet
Ich habe blonde etwas lockige mittellange Haare. Der Halt ist schlecht und reicht für meinen Seitenscheitel nicht aus, sodass mir die Haare in die Stirn fallen. Der Duft ist sehr gut und macht süchtig, aber nicht männlich. Der Glanz ist sehr stark, was gänzlich ungeeignet ist, weil meine Sonnenfarbenen Haare dadurch dunkler aussehen. Ich werde sie dennoch benutzen aber nur sehr wenig als topping nach einer matten festen Pomade um ein wenig Glanz reinzubringen
Eine Perle unter den Pomaden
Meine absolute Lieblingspomade, der Duft, das edle Design, die Textur. Die Frauen lieben den Duft, man kommt lange mit ihr aus und ist auf für dünne Haare geeignet. Sogar das Auswaschen ist gegenüber anderen Pomaden wesentlich einfacher. Es pflegt die Haare und ist den ganzen Tag kämmbar. Eine Pomade wie DiCaprio sie wohl liebt. Bei heißem Wetter weniger zu empfehlen und auch nicht für ne tolle etc. Perfekt für den Gentleman!

Sie eignet sich hervorragend für klassische und zeitlose Frisuren.Außerdem ist der Duft einfach fantastisch.
Einfach nur ein ,, Must have“
als Finish geeignet
der Duft ist atemberaubend - aber vielleicht ein wenig zu aufdringlich - reizt sehr zum Niesen. Das Layout ist großartig. Als letztes kleines finish zu einer schon angewandten Pomade bestimmt zu empfehlen.
Toller Glanz, nostalgischer Duft
Ich habe mir diese Brillantine eigentlich nur aufgrund der Beschreibung und der tollen Optik zugelegt. Ich muss sagen, dass ich alleine vom Duft und vom Glanz wirklich überzeugt bin. Die Pomade ist sehr weich und erinnert mich vom Geruch ein bisschen an meinen Großvater früher, was ich als wirklich toll und nostalgisch empfinde.
Da ich sowohl unkompliziertes Haar als auch eine unkomplizierte Frisur habe, kann ich das Produkt auch "stand-alone" bei meinem Seitenscheitel einsetzen, ohne jedoch wirklich Wunder zu erwarten. Eine Tolle oder Ähnliches dürfte hiermit kaum zu bewerkstelligen sein. In erster Linie nutze ich sie mittlerweile als Finish, nachdem ich die Dapper Dan Medium genutzt habe. Hier bringt sie mir einen wirklich tollen Glanz, ohne fettig zu wirken. Würde ich definitiv wieder bestellen, allein schon wegen der tollen Erinnerungen, die der Duft bei mir hervorruft.
Nobel anzusehen, fantastischer Geruch
Gut zu verarbeiten, ein sehr schöner, geradezu geiler Geruch. Wirkt sehr gut auf die Umgebung.....
Etwas teuer aber noch angemessen. Für kürzeres Haar perfekt.
Edle Brillantine
Mir gefällt die Aufmachung in dem Glastiegel sehr gut mit Goldenen Blechdeckel,mal was ganz Edles ,und der Duft ist wirklich ein sehr angenehmer LavendelDuft,nicht zu süß nicht zu Aufdringlich,genau richtig.Die Brillantine ist sehr weich, und lässt sich wunderbar entnehmen.Eine Haselnussgröße reicht vom Produkt schon ,und gibt einen leicht natürlichen Halt und Glanz.Richtig tolles Produkt,kann man auch mit festen Pomaden wie der Murray`s Superior oder der DAX Wave & Groom die eher diesen Bienenwachsduft (Dezent) haben zusammen mischen,wenn man mehr halt möchte ohne nachzukämmen,kann ich das so weiter empfehlen.
Tolles Produkt,würde ich mir aufjedenfall wieder holen.

was ganz Feines!
Dieses Produkt allein schon wegen der blumigen Beschreibung bestellt. Und man wird nicht enttäuscht, Paket aufgemacht, Dose aufgeschraubt, das Dufterlebnis und die Zeitreise startete auf der Stelle. Der Duft ist sehr intensiv, Herb-Lavendelig, nichts für empfindliche Nasen. Aber ich liebe ihn! Haar glänzt ordentlich bei Benutztung. Die Pomade fühlt sich bei der Handhabung sehr fettig an und auch die Hände sind nach der Anwednung trotz waschen noch lange gut nachgefettet. Aber das ist es wert!
genialer Duft, weiches Haar
Ich hab's nur ganz dezent an den Haarspitzen und an einzelnen Strähnen angewandt. Die Haare wurden dadurch weicher und samtiger. Und der Duft wird mit den Stunden im Haar immer noch besser!

sehr angenehmer Duft und lockerer Halt
ich war jetzt seit ein paar Wochen auf der Suche nach Pomade, die einfach mal anders duftet.
ich stehe auf den Duft der Sweet Georgia Brown und Murrays Super Light Pomade und wollte doch mal eine Abwechselung.
Die Yardley hat mich als erstes an Nivea Creme erinnert, doch bei genauerem Hinriechen duftet es ganz genauso, als hätte man ein paar Lavendelzweige aus dem Garten in der Hand zerrieben. der Duft ist nicht aufdringlich, einfach sauber, frisch.
vom Hald her gefällt sie mir nicht ganz so gut, da hat die Super Light von Murrays, die für lockeren Halt mein Favorit ist, die Nase ein Stück weiter vorn.
Ich muss dazu sagen, ich trage auch keinen Slick Back - ich forme mir immer eine leichte Tolle.
wenns einfach nur locker zurück gekämmt sein soll, ist die Yardleys allerbeste Wahl.

Die klassisch englische Pomade.
Diese Yardley Brillantine wird in meiner Familie tatsächlich schon seit mehreren Generationen gebraucht.
Zwar habe ich mich unter neueren Produkten umgeschaut, aber nichts gefunden, das mich mehr überzeugt.
...schön, daß es sowas noch gibt
Schon lange war ich auf der Suche nach einer weichen Pomade zum stylen von Alltagsfrisuren im Stil der 50er Jahre. Nun habe ich sie gefunden...
Der Glastiegel mit Schraubverschluss, die Etiketten, all dies ist herrlich nostalgisch. Und dann der Duft, wenn man das Siegel abzieht - toll!
Die Pomade lässt sich sehr gut ins Haar einbringen und sorgt für einen leichten Halt. Mit der entsprechenden Technik (Seitenscheitel, Haar an den Seiten nach hinten bürsten) lässt sich sogar eine kleine Tolle formen. Bei mir klappt es mit einem Fassonschnitt am Besten.
Am Meisten überzeugt haben mich der Glanz, der wunderbare Duft und das Handling.
Diese Pomade ist so klassisch britisch, also her mit dem Sakko aus Harris-Tweed und den Tag im Club ausklingen lassen - mit einem guten Glas Single-Malt... :-)
phantastische Handhabung!
Diese Pomade hatte ich mir wegen des Geruchs gekauft. Was mich jedoch wirklich überzeugt hat, ist die phantastische Handhabung!
Diese grüne Herrlichkeit liegt wunderbar leicht im Haar, gibt einen angenehmen Grease, aber eben ohne das Haar zu belasten. Für einen Slickback vom Feinsten, die Haare "poppen" auch nicht wieder hoch, wenn ihr versteht, was ich meine...sie pappen aber auch nicht fest, eben genau perfekt!
Zum Anfangs angekündigten Duft: sehr natürlich, sehr erfrischend, ich habe mir die Pomade auch mal nach einem stressigen Tag auf die Schläfen und die Stirn gerieben und irgendwie hat es Linderung gebracht! Aromatherapie mal anders ;)

Wenn man die Yardley English Lanvender Seife kennt, weiß man welch schönen, edel anmutenden Duft diese Pomade hat. Dieser ist stets Präsent und gibt einem das Gefühl sauber zu sein. Man kann zwar keine voluminösenTollen formen, aber dafür bleibt die Frisur in Form. Sie glänzt stark und hat einen schönen Schimmer im Licht. Die Glasdose ist ebenfalls schön und nostalgisch. Rundum Top Produkt. Der Duft ist ähnlich der Royal Crown, aber nicht ganz so süß.
