Famous British hair cream. Gives a huge shine, light hold and smells of shaving soap and lemon. Since 1928
In the 1940s, Brylcreem shone on the heads of British pilots, which is why they were soon called "Brylcreem Boys". In 1998, this was even made into a film. Brylcreem shines with valuable ingredients such as rapeseed oil, castor oil, wheat protein, beeswax and lanolin alcohol (Eucerin), as well as the classic ingredients of a pomade - Vaseline and mineral oil.
Brylcreem (pronounced "Brill-kriehm") was intended to keep hair well-groomed and loose and to give it a beautiful shine. Shiny hair (today: wet look) à la Rudolph Valentino was the latest craze in men's fashion in the 1920s. Brylcreem made the liquid Brilliantine, which was widely used at the time, easier to dose by presenting it in cream form - hence the name Brillantine + Cream = Brylcreem.
With Brylcreem, hair doesn't look too styled or set - it just looks great and has an incredibly fresh shine.
Brylcreem is irritating: because it looks and feels like a normal face cream, but it surprises with its outstanding shaping. The hair isn't weighed down, but instead gets a light fullness and a great bounce. Thanks to beeswax, the hair also gets an excellent shape without being stuck down.
It's therefore really difficult to describe the effect. With this styling cream, your hairstyle looks natural and loose with a neat hold and a really strong (but not greasy) shine.
This styling cream is also perfect for 1930s hairstyles and a wet look effect. In this case, you can use a lot on medium-length hair to hold the hair as tightly as possible against the head. The shine you get from it is really outstanding - and the hair feels smooth and silky. After about 1 hour, the hair no longer feels greasy, but it is a pleasure to run your hands through it. Your friend will be able to confirm this.
Brylcreem consists mainly of an emulsion of water, Vaseline and mineral oil, enriched with rapeseed oil, castor oil, beeswax, lanolin alcohol and wheat protein. The styling cream has a very light lemon and sandalwood scent - reminiscent of a fresh shaving soap with a hint of citrus - and is still a hit in the former British colonies, such as India, Indonesia and what is now Pakistan.
In Great Britain, Brylcreem is used by many football stars and has such a high and positive reputation that it has even been promoted by David B., a well-known football player. Brylcreem is often mentioned in passing in many US series.
Application:
Massage a dab of Brylcreem into towel-damp hair and comb. That's it. For less shine, apply to dry hair.
For a slickback hairstyle (hair laid back) you can use a lot of Brylcreem as you would with a gel pot. But be careful: in high heat the styling cream can become liquid again and make the hair look heavy. With long hair this can quickly look greasy. Brylcreem is more fun to use with short and medium-length hair, and most of all with a styling cut.
The styling cream is packaged in a beautiful, robust, red plastic container. It is screwed on from below.

About Brylcreem:
The popularity of Brylcreem among Royal Air Force pilots in World War II led to their nickname "Brylcreem Boys". Brylcreem reached its peak in the 1930s to 1950s. When dry hair became popular in the 1960s, Brylcreem began to be forgotten. In the 1990s, this iconic styling cream experienced a revival and was even promoted by football star David Beckham.
