The High School Ladies' Perfume of the 1950s

First produced in 1927, Blue Waltz became an elegant luxury perfume in the 1930s, promoted by Hollywood stars such as Myrna Loy and Alice White. Back then it cost only 10 cents and by the 1950s it had become a popular fragrance among teenage girls, evoking wonderful memories of wild jukebox dances and romantic moments at the graduation ball. Among the fragrance notes are vanilla, lemon, clove, red rose, powdery notes, benzoin resin, oakmoss, geranium and coumarin. Made in the USA and unchanged since the 1950s in its iconic small heart-shaped glass bottle.

Blue Waltz is still packaged today in a beautiful heart-shaped glass bottle only 8 cm tall. The perfume is honey- to cognac-colored and delivers a romantic, light sweet-powdery-spicy-fresh scent reminiscent of vanilla, green tea, cinnamon, anise and, in a way, festive holiday spices. The fragrance is clear and sexy, surprisingly light and refreshing. Even back in the day, Blue Waltz was a beautiful, fascinating and seductive scent. And today, women wearing it will still turn heads and hear the question: “What perfume is that?”. By the way, the fragrance composition of Blue Waltz was copied by a very well-known American brand for charming ladies’ lingerie and released under its own perfume label.
