The RareCraft Heavyweight Icon Wax Pomade is a traditional oil-based pomade created for demanding, neatly combed gentlemen’s hairstyles. Its compact wax base provides a strong hold, keeps the hair firmly together and creates the elegant, glossy finish associated with classic barbershop pomades.
Unlike a gel pomade, Heavyweight does not dry hard or form a rigid shell. The hair remains pliable, combable and easy to reshape throughout the day. It combines powerful control with the distinctive styling experience of a high-quality traditional wax pomade.

Heavyweight Icon Wax Pomade is designed for hairstyles requiring a compact shape, smooth contours and lasting control. Microcrystalline wax and candelilla wax give the hair a powerful grip, while petrolatum provides smoothness, shine and traditional restylability.

The pomade is particularly well suited to normal, thick and dense hair. It controls stubborn strands and provides sufficient weight for hairstyles worn close to the head as well as compact styles with controlled volume.

Heavyweight allows traditional pomade hairstyles to be shaped precisely and maintained throughout the day. It is particularly suitable for:

The pomade binds individual hairs together, controls flyaways and creates clean comb lines. Even after several hours, the hairstyle can be refreshed with just a few strokes of a comb.
Conditioning oils and lanolin
Alongside its styling ingredients, Heavyweight contains selected oils and conditioning lipids. Avocado oil supports a smooth, pliable feel, while castor oil complements the characteristic pomade shine. Wheat germ oil and vitamin E complete the formula.
Lanolin acts as a rich emollient, improves combability and helps keep the hair flexible despite the strong wax hold. The pomade does not dry out the hair and retains its workable consistency for extended periods.
The Heavyweight fragrance
The Heavyweight fragrance takes its inspiration from the strength and elegance of legendary heavyweight boxing champions. Spicy cinnamon and aromatic pepper form its powerful opening. The heart combines warm tobacco leaves with smoky incense, floral and fruity osmanthus and resinous labdanum.
A base of creamy vanilla, dry cedarwood, sensual musk and earthy vetiver gives the fragrance its warm, masculine and lasting character.

Application
Remove a small amount with a fingertip and warm it thoroughly between the palms until the firm wax pomade becomes soft and pliable. Distribute it evenly through completely dry hair, working from the roots to the ends.
Shape the hairstyle with a comb or brush. For even distribution and stronger control, apply several small amounts one after another. This makes it easier to build thick or voluminous hairstyles without overloading individual sections of hair.
Simply comb the hair again whenever restyling is required. In cold conditions, the surface of the hair can be warmed briefly with a blow dryer to make the pomade particularly pliable again.
Build-up and washout
As a traditional oil-based wax pomade, Heavyweight is highly water-resistant and cannot be completely rinsed out with water alone. A small amount of product will often remain in the hair after washing. This characteristic build-up is appreciated by experienced pomade users because it creates a ready-made styling foundation and reduces the amount of fresh product required the following day.
For complete removal, use a deep-cleansing shampoo or a shampoo specifically intended for oil-based pomades. Depending on the amount applied, two washes may be required.

Firm ist sie nicht
Ich war am Samstag im Pomadeshop. Grüße an Max und gute Besserung an Alex an dieser Stelle.
Auch wenn auf der Verpackung die Gärten vier von fünf Punkten ist, muss man ja wissen, daß es jeder hersteller etwas anders sieht mit dem Härtegrad. Für mich ist es eher eine weiche Pomade, von daher nur im Winter zu benutzen.
Das entnehmen und das verteilen in den Haaren ist sehr einfach. Der Duft ist schwierig zu beschreiben. Etwas frisch mit einem sehr würzigen Unterton. Das liegt wohl an dem Weihrauch. Meine Frau mag den Duft. Ich habe dem Produkt 7 Punkte gegeben aufgrund des härtegrades.

Der langerwartete Fix der King Brown Original
Mit über 120 Pomaden ist mein Sortiment im Laufe der Jahre recht groß geworden. Allerdings kommt für mich kein Duft an den der King Brown Original heran. Leider überzeugt der Halt (wie hinlänglich bekannt) eben dieser Pomade nicht wirklich. Mit der "RareCraft ICON HEAVYWEIGHT Wax Pomade" scheine ich nun jedoch das ideale Produkt gefunden zu haben. Der Duft ist verblüffend ähnlich mit dem der "King Brown Original", vielleicht etwas kräftiger in den einzelnen Noten, was mich allerdings keineswegs stört - im Gegenteil. Hinzu kommt, dass der Halt mit der Qualität einer Lockhart’s Pomade, wenn auch einer Light, vergleichbar ist. Die Pomade fühlt sich beim Herausnehmen etwas “chunky” an, lässt sich aber wunderbar verreiben und einarbeiten. Mit etwas Geschick lässt sich eine wunderbare Tolle zaubern. Die Auswaschbarkeit ist einer ölbasierten Pomade entsprechend.
