It should be applied sparingly to fine hair to avoid unnecessarily weighing down the hairstyle. Consistency and Application The light-golden pomade has a smooth, slightly tough consistency. It can be scooped from the tin with little effort and quickly becomes soft when rubbed between the palms. For even application, begin with a small amount and rub it thoroughly between your hands. Work it through the hair from the roots to the ends, adding further small amounts gradually if required. The Scent The fragrance has a mild and nostalgic barbershop character. Warm, subtly sweet and delicate citrus nuances give it a classic, polished quality. The scent remains pleasantly understated in the hair and combines easily with an aftershave or fragrance. Application Remove a small amount from the tin with your fingertip and rub it thoroughly between your palms. Work it evenly through dry or slightly damp hair. Shape the desired hairstyle with a comb or hairbrush. Gradually add further small amounts if stronger hold or more intense shine is required. For particularly smooth and even hairstyles, a boar-bristle hairbrush is recommended. It helps distribute the pomade evenly through the hair and smooth down flyaways. Restyling and Buildup Because DAX Neat Waves never hardens, the hairstyle can be recombed or reshaped at any time. A little water or a few splashes of hair tonic are often sufficient to refresh the style the following day. A light amount of remaining product can deliberately be left in the hair as buildup and used as a styling foundation over the following days. Washing Out As a traditional oil-based pomade, DAX Neat Waves cannot be removed completely with water alone. Due to its smooth consistency, however, it can be washed out more easily than particularly firm wax pomades.
