Description

Product information "Alpa Windsor Cologne (red)"

Classic Eau de Cologne with the Charm of the 1950s – Alpa Windsor Cologne

Traditional Eau de Cologne from the Czech Republic featuring an elegant floral-spicy fragrance. Warm vanilla, dry bergamot, and delicate floral notes combine to create a refined scent composition in the style of the 1950s. Free from menthol, light, and pleasantly refreshing. Made in the Czech Republic.

The Alpa Windsor Cologne is part of the long-established Windsor range from the Czech manufacturer Alpa, a company renowned for its quality grooming and fragrance products since 1913. While the Windsor After Shave is best known for its invigorating menthol freshness, the Windsor Cologne presents itself as a more elegant, softer, and refined interpretation.

The traditional formula recalls the well-groomed gentlemen's fragrances of the 1950s—a time when Eau de Colognes were an essential part of every morning routine. The result is a scent full of character that feels pleasantly nostalgic today and stands apart from many modern, interchangeable mainstream fragrances.

The Fragrance

The composition opens with a pleasantly dry bergamot freshness, lending the cologne lightness and elegance. As the fragrance develops, warm and slightly sweet notes of vanilla and subtle spices emerge. Delicate floral accents add depth and contribute to its classic, sophisticated character.

Although Windsor Cologne contains no menthol, it offers a surprisingly refreshing sensation on the skin. The balance between fresh, floral, and spicy notes creates a harmonious and understated fragrance that is perfectly suited for everyday wear.

The scent feels elegant, refined, and timeless—like a gentleman freshly groomed and stepping out of a café in Prague, Vienna, or Brno during the 1950s.

Light, Fresh, and Ideal for Warm Days

True to the character of a classic Eau de Cologne, Windsor Cologne features a pleasantly light structure. Its high alcohol content provides immediate freshness upon application, while the fragrance notes develop subtly and accompany the wearer for several hours.

Windsor Cologne particularly shines during warm spring and summer days. It feels clean, refined, and nostalgic without ever becoming heavy or overpowering.

A wonderful Eau de Cologne for lovers of classic men's fragrances and traditional European perfumery.

Florida Water Cologne

A refreshing unisex cologne from 1808:"The real and only cologne you will ever need" "Florida Water" comes from a legend that the fountain of eternal youth can be found in Florida. This US version of the local cologne has been produced with great popularity for over 200 years. The slim bottle with the Victorian label looks like it came from an antique shop in London. Florida Water smells invigorating, orange, floral and attractive. To this day, it is a fascinating aftershave that women like. Perhaps that's why it was a must-have for emancipated upper-class women in France, Italy and the USA in the 1930s. Like the original Cologne from Germany, Florida Water is based on the same citrus note, but the scent then turns to a sweet orange tone instead of lime and adds a spicy dash of lavender and clove. The obligatory color for Florida Water is a pale aqua green. In the 1880s and 1890s, the manufacturer Murray & Lanman even advertised it as "The richest of all colognes" and "The most popular perfume in the world". As was common with colognes of the time, Florida Water was prized for its refreshing properties and fragrance. It was also used as an "eau de toilette" by adding it to bath water or facial cleansing water. In the 19th century, Florida Water was considered a unisex perfume and was used with equal popularity by men and women. Victorian etiquette manuals warned against the offensive effects of heavy perfumes, and recommended Florida Water and Eau de Colognes for dabbing on handkerchiefs and freshening up corsages. In the hot summer months, Florida Water provided a refreshing scent. Florida Water to invigorate the body and mind. For generations, Florida Water has been a popular men's aftershave, which even our great-great-grandfathers used. In the 19th century, large quantities were also used by barbershops, for refreshment, as a hair tonic and aftershave In the 1920s and 1930s, it was a must-have for the modern woman. At that time, elegant ladies looked from advertising posters in France, Italy and the USA and promoted Florida Water as first aid for problems with listless hair, dry scalp, as refreshing for the skin and invigorating for love. There seems to be something in it, because the scent refreshes and fascinates in a mysterious way. The main ingredients of Florida Water include bergamot, lavender, lemon, clove, cinnamon, neroli, jasmine, musk, alcohol and rose water. The magic has survived to this day: in South American and Caribbean cultures, the water is highly regarded as a lucky charm and has a firm place in magic and voodoo. Whether used by men as shaving and refreshing water, or by women as eau de toilette and light perfume, both sexes find Florida Water equally fascinating and the scent is popular. Alpa 'Violet' Cologne ('Fialka' - lilac)

>A nostalgic scent of the 1920/30s: Violet Ordinary people in the 1920/30s could not afford the expensive import fragrances from England or France. Nevertheless they wanted to wear the favored scents of these days. Besides lavender and rose these were lily of the valley (a clean, neat fragrance), violet (a delicately romantic scent) and clove (the seducer scent). The Bohemian Factory Alpa offered to these scents at an affordable price. Today these clear, nostalgic fragrances are particularly popular with old ladies and gentlemen. The "Alpa Violet Eau de Cologne" (in Czech and "Alpa Fialka Kolínská Voda") is one of the most popular scents of the 1920s and 1930s. Violet has a delicate, romantic fragrance, and was a popular fragrance with amorous ladies. At that time there was besides colognes and perfumes, also talcum powder, hair oils and pomades with a scent of violets. Eau de cologne in general does not smell as heavy and intense as perfume, but mild and unobtrusive. This cologne is applied at will instead of a perfume, usually on the neck or behind the ears. Due to the warmth the fragrance unfolds very well at this place of true body.  Packed in a classic small glass bottle.
