Product information "Alpa Eau de Cologne CLASSIQUE (green)"
ALPA Classique Eau de Cologne – Fresh Citrus Fragrance with Aromatic Herbs
A traditional Czech eau de cologne for women and men. Its clear, invigorating fragrance combines fresh citrus with aromatic herbs and recalls a classic bergamot-style cologne. Formulated with 80% alcohol by volume and no added colourants. Presented in a glass bottle and made by the heritage company ALPA.
ALPA Classique Eau de Cologne is an uncomplicated classic for anyone who enjoys clear citrus freshness and traditional European colognes. Its high-alcohol composition feels immediately invigorating and leaves a fresh, well-groomed fragrance on the skin.
ALPA describes Classique as an intensely stimulating eau de cologne with a fresh citrus fragrance and aromatic herbal elements. It is suitable for women and men and can be applied sparingly or more generously, depending on the desired intensity.
The fragrance
Immediately after application, ALPA Classique feels fresh, clear and distinctly alcoholic. Citrus peel, aromatic herbs and a gently dry woody nuance soon move into the foreground.
- Fragrance character: Citrus, aromatic, herbal and clear
- Opening: Fresh and invigorating
- Development: Citrus peel and aromatic herbs
- Dry-down: Gently bitter, dry and subtly woody
The fragrance recalls classic bergamot-led eaux de cologne and may suggest freshly cut citrus peel or Earl Grey tea. However, bergamot is not explicitly listed as a separate essential oil in the published ingredients. It should therefore be understood as a fragrance impression rather than a confirmed individual ingredient.
Classique is more direct and citrus-driven than ALPA Chypre. It lacks Chypre’s pronounced mossy-powdery character and the warmer woody effect of ALPA Windsor After Shave. It is therefore particularly suitable for those who prefer a clear and uplifting fragrance.
What is bergamot?
Bergamot is a citrus fruit believed to have originated from a cross within the bitter-orange and citron family. The aromatic oil from its peel combines sparkling citrus freshness with floral, green and slightly bitter facets.
Bergamot defines numerous traditional eau-de-cologne compositions and is also used to flavour Earl Grey tea. Its characteristic aroma feels fresh and elegant but less sharply acidic than pure lemon.
Who is ALPA Classique suitable for?
- Women and men
- Admirers of classic eau-de-cologne fragrances
- Fans of fresh citrus and herbal compositions
- A clean and understated everyday appearance
- Warm weather and refreshing use after showering
- Those who enjoy traditional European drugstore products
Directions
Pour a few drops into the palms and apply to the neck, cheeks, forearms or other desired areas of the body. Alternatively, a small amount can be applied carefully to a pocket square.
ALPA recommends using the cologne to fragrance and refresh intact skin only. Discontinue use if irritation develops. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
Only partly suitable as an aftershave
Containing 80% alcohol by volume, ALPA Classique has a considerably higher alcohol content than many traditional aftershaves. It may therefore sting strongly and feel drying on freshly shaved, dry or irritated skin.
The formula contains no specifically soothing ingredients such as glycerin, allantoin or panthenol. Classique should consequently be regarded primarily as an eau de cologne rather than a conditioning post-shave treatment.
Simple glass bottle in traditional ALPA style
The sturdy glass bottle reinforces the cologne’s functional and traditional character. Its straightforward label has a distinctive retro charm reminiscent of classic Central and Eastern European drugstore products.
The 100 ml bottle is suitable for the bathroom, wash bag or as a small gift. ALPA Classique is also available in a professional one-litre size for barbershops, salons and high-volume users.
Complementary products and alternatives
Those who enjoy fresh citrus fragrances but want a dedicated post-shave treatment may prefer one of the Don Draper After Shaves. They combine the clear character of a classic aftershave with distinctive fragrances inspired by American barbershops of the 1960s.
For hair care, choose Sweet Georgia Brown Hair Tonic, which is also manufactured by ALPA. Its formula contains glycerin, creatine and allantoin, improves manageability and prepares the hair for traditional pomades. Its warm, gently powdery fragrance provides an elegant contrast to the clear citrus freshness of ALPA Classique.
ALPA Chypre is a suitable alternative for those seeking a softer, mossier unisex fragrance. Those who prefer menthol, allantoin and a woody-citrus fragrance specifically designed for post-shave use should choose ALPA Windsor After Shave.

Demand grew so considerably that the company employed 196 people by 1938. Following the Second World War, ALPA relocated to Velké Meziříčí in 1948. Its traditional grooming and fragrance products continue to be manufactured there today.
