For longer hair, begin by gently detangling the lengths and ends before gradually working towards the roots. Cleaning and Care Regularly remove loose hair from the bristle bed using the Don Draper Brush and Comb Cleaner or a narrow comb. Regular dry cleaning is particularly important when the brush is frequently used with pomade. If more thorough cleaning is required, carefully wash only the bristles using a small amount of lukewarm water and mild soap. Keep the wooden body as dry as possible, and never submerge the entire brush or leave it soaking. This thin layer of residual product can be used as a natural styling foundation the following day, often providing additional volume and faster shaping. To refresh the style, lightly dampen the hair with water or an oil-free hair tonic, comb it through and reshape it. A smaller amount of fresh clay than on the first day will usually be sufficient. Washout As an oil- and wax-based clay, the product is not as easy to remove as a water-based pomade. A good shampoo is recommended for thorough cleansing.
